The 3 hardest parts of a healthy lifestyle

If you put the jelly on before the peanut butter, the sandwich fails. Spread the peanut butter on the plate and then add the bread, what were you thinking? Like PBJs, there's an order to a healthy, sustainable lifestyle. And yet, we often do the least-scary or easiest parts first, regardless what the generations old proven formula tells us. Least-scary and easy:

  1. Working out more.

  2. Running longer.

  3. Spinning faster.

Most-scary and hard:

  1. 100% honesty about the food you eat.

  2. Dealing with a past chapter of life that might constantly derail your progress.

  3. Being held accountable and listening to feedback

The key to making a healthy lifestyle sustainable isn't following the latest fad diet or trendy workout routine online. It's rooted in your grandmothers wisdom:

  1. Discover your style of working out, and be okay that it's not trendy.

  2. Be active on most days a week, but don't worry about killing yourself in the process.

  3. Nobody gained weight eating protein and veggies.

  4. Rest, recover and repair your body by sleeping 7+ hours nightly.

  5. Give someone permission to say: "You're falling off the wagon." and heed their advice.

But you already knew all this, right?

I'm just trying to repeat it enough to give you permission and courage to take the next step.
