What does personalized health care look like?

For the longest time, I've had sleep issues. I've tried everything: new bed, a chilipad, loads of melatonin. Nothing worked. That is until I took a very proactive step a year ago and visited a Functional Medicine doctor. After a super in-depth initial conversation, my doctor ran some unique tests. The result? A bad case of mold toxicity. A classic symptom: Insomnia. Go figure... A Proactive Approach: Making a healthy lifestyle sustainable isn't about taking pills for a quick fix. It's about getting to the root of the problem so that you don't have to keep facing the same issues over and over again. So for my sleep problem, we had to clean out the mold. From there, I've worked on different relaxation techniques to settle my mind and body down so I could fall asleep quicker than the hour it used to take me.
